Dashboard tour
A map of the Miniwall dashboard - the sidebar, each page, search, appearance and what changes on a phone.
The dashboard is where you build screens, decide where they show, read results and manage your team. This page is a map. Each page has its own guide linked below.
Layout on a computer
On a wide screen (1024 pixels and up) the dashboard has a sidebar on the left and the page on the right.
From top to bottom, the sidebar has:
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Miniwall logo | Takes you home. Home opens the last project you used. |
| Project switcher | Shows the project name and your role in it. Opens a list of your projects and New project…. See Projects. |
| Search | Opens the command palette. Shortcut: Ctrl+K, or Cmd+K on a Mac. |
| Screens | Every screen in the project. Screens |
| Placements | The keys your site asks for, and what each shows. Placements |
| Analytics | Views, taps and conversions. Analytics |
| Members | People in the project and their roles. Members and roles |
| Install SDK (under Developers) | Code to paste into your site. Install SDK |
| API keys (under Developers) | Public keys, and the Allowed websites list. API keys |
| Plan and usage meter | Your plan and this month's views. Opens Plans. Plans and billing |
| Account menu | Your email, Appearance and Sign out. Account |
The editor is not part of this layout. It opens full screen when you open a screen, and has a Back to screens button. See the editor guide.
Layout on a phone or tablet
Below 1024 pixels the sidebar is replaced by two bars.
- A top bar with the logo, the project switcher, a search button and your account button.
- A bottom bar with six tabs: Screens, Placements, Analytics, Members, Install and API keys.
The Plans page has no tab on a phone. Reach it from the usage notice that appears at the top of pages when you are near your limit, or search for Plans in the command palette.
Search and the command palette
Press Ctrl+K (Cmd+K on a Mac) anywhere in the dashboard, or select Search. Type to filter. Use the up and down arrow keys to move, Enter to open, and Esc to close.
The palette offers:
| Group | Commands |
|---|---|
| Actions | New screen |
| Go to | Screens, Placements, Analytics, Install SDK, API keys, Members and Plans |
| Screens | Every screen in the project by name, with a Published or Draft badge. Opens it in the editor. |
| Projects | Switch to each of your other projects |
| Theme | Light theme, Dark theme, Match system theme |
Each command also matches extra words. For example, searching for invite finds Members, and domains finds API keys.
Appearance
Open the account menu and choose Light, Dark or Match system under Appearance. The default is light. The choice is saved in your browser, so it applies on that device only.
Usage notices
When your project is near or over its monthly view limit, a notice appears at the top of every page. It tells you how many views you have used, what keeps running and when the count resets. Your screens never stop showing. See Plans and billing.
Roles and locked buttons
Your role controls what you can change. A button you cannot use is shown but disabled, with the reason in a tooltip and in a note under the page title: Your role (Viewer) can't do this. Ask an admin or the owner. Buttons on individual rows, such as Remove or Delete, are hidden when your role cannot use them. See Members and roles.
