Text field
Add a line of typed input, such as an email or a name, and set its keyboard, placeholder and look.
Use a Text field to collect something the visitor types. What they type stays with your site: Miniwall never receives it. Your site gets it in answers under the field ID.
Add it
- Drag Text field from Questions onto the phone.
- Or hover a layer in Layers, click +, then Questions, then Text field.
Field ID answer, placeholder Your answer, not required, 48 pixels high with a gray border. Focus shows a blue border, and an invalid value a red one.
Where it can go
Stacks, header, footer, tab content, carousel pages, not inside tappable layers. It holds no children.

Dark mode and screen sizes
Add dark colors for text, placeholder, background and border. The default is Fill width.
Tips and common mistakes
- Treat entered data as private. Never log it in Analytics via your own code.
- Choose the right keyboard, so phones show the right keys.
