Single choice
Ask a question where the visitor picks one answer, and set field and answer IDs, required, and the look of each answer.
Use Single choice for onboarding and surveys: goal, role, reason for cancelling. Your site receives the chosen answer by the question's field ID.
Add it
- Drag Single choice from Questions onto the phone.
- Or hover a layer in Layers, click +, then Questions, then Single choice.
You get a question with field ID choice, Must answer to continue on, and three answers: Option A, Option B, Option C.
Where it can go
In stacks, the header, the footer, tab content and carousel pages. It is interactive, so not inside tappable layers. A question cannot hold another question, and answers cannot leave their question. See Where components can go.
Design panel
Question panel:
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Field ID | How your site reads the answer, in answers. Lowercase letters, numbers, _, starting with a letter, up to 40. Must be unique on the screen. |
| Must answer to continue | Dims Continue buttons on your site until answered. |
| Answers list | Click an answer to select it. The cross removes it, and is disabled at two answers. Each row shows its ID. |
| Add answer | Adds Option plus the next letter. A question needs at least 2. |
| Stack controls | For the container of the answers (gap, layout). |
Answer panel (select an answer):
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Answer ID | Same format as the field ID. Unique within the question. |
| When picked | Just select it, or Select it and go to another screen, with a Screen menu. |
| Stack controls | With Default and When selected tabs. |
A default answer is a row with a circle icon and a label, white with a gray border. When selected it gets a blue 2 pixel border, a pale blue fill and a filled dot.
States
Selected, plus required. The preview ignores required so you can click.
Dark mode and screen sizes
Add dark colors to answers. Answers set to Fill adapt.
Tips and common mistakes
- Analytics counts answer IDs, so use readable ones such as
lose_weight. - Publishing is blocked for missing or duplicate IDs, or fewer than two answers.
In the JSON
The component type is input_single_choice, with field_id, required and a stack of input_option answers, each with option_id.
