Glossary

Short definitions of the terms used across the Miniwall dashboard, editor and SDK.

TermMeaning
Action IDThe ID you give a Run your code button. Your site receives it in onAction.
Allowed websitesAn optional list of sites that may load your screens with your public key. Pro and above. See Allowed websites.
AudienceA group of visitors defined by conditions. The first matching audience decides the screen, or shows nothing.
A/B test (experiment)Two published screens on one placement, split by percentage. See Core concepts.
AttributesFacts your site passes to the SDK about a visitor. Used in the browser for audiences, never sent to Miniwall.
DisplayA placement's format (popup, full screen, banner, slide-in, toast, side drawer, launcher) and its trigger.
DraftThe version of a screen you edit. Not live until published.
FlowScreens linked by Go to screen buttons.
Frequency capA limit on how often one visitor sees a placement.
Grace periodThe 7 days after a project reaches its monthly views, when everything still runs.
HoldoutA percentage of visitors who see nothing, to measure a screen's effect.
LauncherA display format: a button on the page that opens the screen.
MemberA person in a project, with one role.
PackageA plan card on a screen. Its package ID links it to a price your site passes.
PlacementA named spot on your site, such as upgrade_button, that shows a chosen screen.
ProjectOne product or website, with its own screens, keys, team and plan.
Public keyA pk_ key your site uses to read published screens. Safe in page code.
PublishTurn the draft into the live version after checks.
RoleOwner, Admin, Editor or Viewer. See Members and roles.
ScheduleA time window during which a placement shows another screen.
ScreenOne thing a visitor sees. Also called a paywall in the API and a few labels.
SeatA member or pending invitation counted against the plan.
TemplateA ready-made screen to start from.
TriggerWhen a placement shows by itself: page load, delay, scroll or exit intent.
ViewOne screen shown on your site. Counted against the plan.
Visitor IDA random ID kept in the visitor's browser to count unique visitors.
