Show a screen automatically
Show a banner on page load or an offer at exit intent, without a button click, and limit how often it appears.
Two recipes for placements that show themselves. Both need startAutoPlacements() once on every page; the placement's trigger, format and pages are set in the dashboard (see Placements).
UIKit.startAutoPlacements({
onAction: ({ actionId }) => {
if (actionId === 'view_offer') location.href = '/pricing';
if (actionId === 'claim_offer') applyCoupon('WINTER15');
},
});Sale banner on every page
- Publish a bar-style screen whose button runs your code with the action ID
view_offer, with a Close the screen button. - Add the placement
promo_barpointing at it. Format Banner at the top, trigger When the page loads, All pages. - Keep Limit to once per session, or set a frequency limit, so it does not use your monthly views on every page view.
- For a timed sale, add a schedule (Indie and above) so a different banner runs only during the sale.
A banner leaves the page usable. See Display modes.
Exit-intent offer
- Publish an offer screen whose button runs your code with the ID
claim_offer. - Add the placement
exit_offer. Format Popup, trigger When the visitor is about to leave, Only these pages:/pricing. - Test on a computer by moving the pointer out through the top of the window.
Exit intent never fires on phones and tablets. Use After N seconds or a scroll trigger there.
